What Is an Intellectual Property Discovery Consultation?
At PALVA, a consultation is more than a meeting. It is a structured discovery and strategy process designed to help you better understand the intellectual property opportunities, risks, and assets associated with your business, brand, creative work, or innovation.
Before we meet, we review your intake information, supporting documents, business objectives, and brand details so that our discussion is focused, productive, and tailored to your goals. This preparation allows us to identify potential intellectual property assets, explore available protections, and begin developing a strategic roadmap before the consultation even begins.
If you move forward with a qualifying intellectual property engagement of $1,500 or more, the full $500 consultation fee is credited toward your engagement — provided an engagement agreement is signed and payment is made within 30 days of the consultation.

Discovery Consultation Policy
The Discovery Consultation is a prepaid professional service that includes conflict screening, intake review, document review, business and brand analysis, preparation, and the consultation itself.
Because substantive work begins before the scheduled meeting, consultation fees are generally non-refundable.
We understand that schedules change and that flexibility is sometimes necessary. Clients may reschedule their consultation with at least 24 hours’ notice, and their fee will be applied to a new appointment date at no additional charge.
